Come and join Edinburgh Innovations for one or two interactive seminars aimed particularly at early career researchers and postdocs looking to build their industry collaboration and employment skills. These are in person events with limited places and are open to researchers at any career stage.

• How to network when you hate networking - spaces still available

This seminar is for early career researchers who find networking to be tedious, boring, or even worse, a total waste of time. We will help you develop a network based on genuine connections so you have a solid base for industry and external engagement. We will give you some techniques for building your professional network that even shy introverts can do well.

Come and join us for a networking buffet lunch to put your new skills into practice.

 

• How to be more employable in the private sector - spaces still available

Surgeons Quarter: 12 July 2022, 1.30pm – 4:15pm

Registration opens 1.15pm

If you want to ace the interview for that perfect private sector job, this seminar will give you a big advantage over the other scientists and engineers who apply. We will discuss five specific working habits that are essential in the private sector, you will hear stories to illustrate why they are so important, and we will discuss how to start developing these working habits today.
